Bread
- 🍞 4 slices sandwich bread
Fish
- 🐟 140g filleted horse mackerel
Vegetables
- 🥬 80g shredded cabbage
Seasoning
- 🧂 Pinch of salt and pepper
- 🧈 20g salted butter
- 2 tbsp tonkatsu sauce
Coating
- Sufficient breadcrumbs
- Sufficient salad oil
Batter
- 🥚 1 egg
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 💧 1 tbsp water
SCHRITTE
Shred the cabbage and mix the batter ingredients (egg, flour, water) in a bowl.
Pat the horse mackerel dry, season with salt and pepper, then coat with batter and breadcrumbs.
Heat salad oil to 170°C in a pan and deep-fry the coated fish until golden brown and cooked through.
Toast the bread slices until golden and spread butter evenly on one side of each slice.
Layer cabbage, fried fish, and tonkatsu sauce on one slice of bread, then top with another slice, buttered side down. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and let sit for 5 minutes.
Cut the sandwich into desired sizes while keeping the wrap intact.
