Meat
- 🥩 2 steak cuts of beef
Vegetables
- 🍅 1 fruit tomato, sliced
- 🌿 6 basil leaves
Cheese
- 🧀 100g mozzarella cheese, sliced
Seasoning
- 🧂 Pinch of salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Sauce
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 🍯 1 tsp honey
- Pinch of black pepper
SCHRITTE
Take the beef out of the fridge and let it sit for 10 minutes to reach room temperature. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Slice the tomato into 5mm thick pieces and remove stems from basil leaves.
Slice mozzarella cheese into 5mm thick rounds.
Arrange tomato and mozzarella slices alternately, inserting basil leaves between them.
Heat olive oil in a pan over high heat. Sear the beef for 40 seconds on one side, flip, and top with the arranged Caprese mixture. Cover and cook on low heat for 1 minute. Remove and plate.
In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, honey, and black pepper. Heat over medium heat until thickened.
Drizzle the balsamic sauce over the plated steak.
