- 1/2 bitter melon (125g)
- 🧅 1 minced onion
- 🍅 200g canned whole tomatoes

- 🧄 1 clove garlic
- 🥛 2 tbsp unsweetened yogurt
- 1 tbsp curry powder
- 30g curry roux flakes
- 🧂 1/4 tsp salt
- 🧀 2 tsp grated cheese
Oil & Liquid
- 1 tbsp salad oil
- 💧 100ml water
SCHRITTE
Cut the bitter melon in half lengthwise, remove seeds and pulp, slice into 5mm pieces, rub with salt (1/2 tsp, not listed in ingredients), rinse, and squeeze out excess water. Mince the onion and crush the garlic.
Heat salad oil and garlic in a pan until fragrant, then add minced onion. Cover and sauté over low heat for 7–8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add ground meat and cook until browned.
Add curry powder and stir until no powder remains. Add canned tomatoes and crush while cooking. Mix in yogurt and water, cover, and simmer over low-medium heat for 10 minutes.
Add bitter melon and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in curry roux and cook until thickened. Adjust seasoning with salt.
Serve the keema curry over rice and optionally sprinkle with grated cheese.
