Rice Bowl with Chinese-style Vegetable Sauce
- 🍚 2 bowls (400g) warm rice
- 80g thinly sliced pork belly
- 🥬 2 cabbage leaves
- 🥕 1/4 carrot
- 1/2 pack (1 stalk) bok choy
- 💧 100cc water
- 🧂 Pinch of salt and pepper
- 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
Seasoning for Vegetable Sauce
- 1 tbsp sake
- 🍬 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp chicken stock powder
- 💧 250cc water
Thickening Agent
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 💧 2 tbsp water
Salmon Shumai
- 12 shumai wrappers
- 🐟 120g fresh salmon fillet
- 1/2 piece (60g) fish cake
- 🍄 2 shiitake mushrooms
- 3 green onions
- 💧 1 tbsp water
- Soy sauce to taste
Seasoning for Salmon Shumai
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 🧂 Pinch of salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Sweet Potato with Sesame Sauce
- 🍠 150g sweet potato
- White sesame seeds to taste
Seasoning for Sweet Potato
- 🍬 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp ground sesame
SCHRITTE
Cut sweet potato into bite-sized pieces and soak in water. Drain well.
Cut cabbage into 2cm strips, carrot into thin slices, and bok choy into bite-sized pieces.
Finely chop shiitake mushrooms and green onions.
Cut pork belly into 3cm strips.
Remove salmon skin, mince the flesh, and mash into a paste.
In a bowl, mix salmon, torn fish cake, shiitake, green onions, and seasoning ingredients for shumai.
Wrap the filling with shumai wrappers to form 12 pieces.
In a deep pan, add cabbage, carrot, bok choy stems, pork, salt, pepper, and water.
Place shumai in the center of the pan.
Arrange sweet potato around shumai, heat on medium until boiling, then cover and steam for 6 minutes.
Mix sweet potato seasoning ingredients in a bowl.
Remove shumai and sweet potato from the pan.
Add vegetable sauce seasoning to the pan, boil for 3 minutes.
Mix sweet potato with sesame sauce.
Add bok choy leaves to the pan and cook until wilted.
Add cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce, drizzle sesame oil, and serve.
