Dice the potato into bite-sized pieces and soak in water briefly. Drain and microwave in a heatproof container for 3–4 minutes at 600W until tender. Remove excess water. Cut the garlic in half lengthwise, remove the core, and crush with the flat side of a knife.

Pat the shrimp dry and cut the boiled octopus into bite-sized pieces.

In a pot, add olive oil, garlic, chili slices, and salt. Heat on low until fragrant. Add shrimp and octopus, cooking on medium heat until the shrimp changes color. Once bubbling, add the potato and mix briefly before simmering.
