- 🥩 150g sliced beef
Vegetables
- 8 shishito peppers
- 🧅 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
Oil
- 1/2 tbsp salad oil
Seasonings
- 2 tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 🧂 1 tsp sugar
- 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 💧 100ml water
SCHRITTE
Trim the stems of the shishito peppers and make a vertical slit. Thinly slice the onion.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the beef and stir-fry until the color changes. Add the onion and stir-fry until coated with oil.
Add the seasoning ingredients (sake, mirin, sugar, soy sauce, and water) and mix. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the shishito peppers and simmer for another 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid reduces to one-third.
