INGREDIENTES
Meat
- 🐖 100g thinly sliced pork belly
Vegetables
- 🥬 150g roughly chopped cabbage
Seafood
- 25g mentaiko (1/2 piece)
Oil
- 1 tbsp salad oil
Batter
- 🌾 100g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Japanese dashi powder
- 💧 100ml water
- 🥚 1 egg
- 2 tbsp tempura flakes
Toppings
- Okonomiyaki sauce, as needed
- Mayonnaise, as needed
- Bonito flakes, as needed
- Aonori (seaweed flakes), as needed
PASOS
Chop the cabbage into rough pieces.
Cut the pork belly into 4cm wide strips.
In a bowl, mix flour, dashi powder, and water. Add egg, tempura flakes, and cabbage, then mix gently to incorporate air into the batter.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan. Pour in part of the batter and spread into a circle. Place pork belly and mentaiko on top, then cover with the remaining batter. Cook over medium heat until browned.
Flip the okonomiyaki, cover with a lid, and cook on low-medium heat for about 5 minutes until cooked through.
Remove the lid, flip again, and cook for 1-2 minutes over medium heat until crispy.
Serve on a plate and add toppings: okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, bonito flakes, and aonori.
