INGREDIENTES
Rice
- 🍚 200g cooked rice
Meat
- 🥓 8 slices thinly sliced pork belly
Seasoning
- 🧂 Pinch of salt and pepper
Coating
- Thin coating of all-purpose flour
Cooking Oil
- 1 tsp salad oil
Sauce
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 🍬 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp miso
- 1/2 tbsp gochujang
- 🧄 1/2 tsp grated garlic
Garnish
- 🌰 Sprinkle of toasted white sesame seeds
PASOS
Place 1/4 of the cooked rice on a piece of plastic wrap and shape into a small oblong rice ball. Repeat to make 4 rice balls.
Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl until well combined.
Lay 2 slices of pork belly slightly overlapping, place a rice ball on top, and roll tightly from one end. Repeat for all rice balls. Season with salt and pepper and lightly coat with flour.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Place the wrapped rice balls seam-side down and cook until browned on all sides. Cover and steam on low heat for 3–5 minutes until the pork is fully cooked. Remove excess oil with paper towels.
Add the prepared sauce to the pan and cook while turning the rice balls until they are evenly glazed and shiny.
Serve on a plate and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
