- 1 piece konjac (125g)
- 150g lotus root
Cooking Oil
- 1 tbsp salad oil
Seasonings
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 🍬 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp sliced chili
- 💧 200ml water
PASOS
Tear the konjac into bite-sized pieces using a spoon. Cut the lotus root into quarters lengthwise, then slice into 7mm thick pieces. Soak in water and drain well.
Cut the jakoten into bite-sized pieces.
Place the konjac in a pot with plenty of water (not listed in ingredients) and bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil for about 3 minutes, then drain.
In a frying pan, dry-fry the konjac over medium heat for about 2 minutes to remove excess moisture. Add salad oil and lotus root, and stir-fry until the oil is absorbed.
Add the jakoten and all the seasonings (marked with ☆). Bring to a boil, cover with a lid, and simmer on low heat for 7-8 minutes.
Remove the lid, increase to medium-high heat, and stir while reducing the sauce slightly.
