Filling
- 🍎 2 apples, peeled and diced
- 🧈 1 tbsp butter
- 🧂 3 tbsp sugar
- 4 tbsp corn syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
Bread
- 🍞 8 slices of bread, crust removed
- 🥚 1 egg, beaten
ÉTAPES
Peel and dice the apples into small cubes to prevent bursting during baking.
Heat a pan and melt 1 tbsp of butter. Add the diced apples and sauté.
Add 3 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp corn syrup, and 1 tbsp lemon juice to the pan. Cook until the apples soften and caramelize.
Remove the crusts from the bread slices and flatten them with a rolling pin.
Add 1 tsp cinnamon powder and 2 tbsp corn syrup to the apple mixture. Cook briefly and adjust sweetness or cinnamon to taste.
Place the apple filling onto the flattened bread slices.
Brush the edges of the bread with beaten egg and fold the bread in half. Seal the edges with a fork.
Trim any uneven edges with a knife and brush the surface with beaten egg.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for 10 minutes.
