- 24 shumai wrappers
Seafood
- 🍤 150g peeled shrimp
Meat
- 100g ground pork
Vegetables
- 🧅 1/2 onion, minced
Seasoning
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 🧂 1 pinch salt
- 1 tbsp sake
- 🍬 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp sesame oil
ÉTAPES
Mince the onion finely.
Wash the peeled shrimp and pat dry with paper towels. Reserve 6 shrimp for topping and cut them into quarters. Roughly chop the remaining shrimp.
In a bowl, combine minced onion, ground pork, chopped shrimp, and all seasoning ingredients. Mix until the mixture becomes sticky.
Take 1/24 of the filling and place it on a shumai wrapper. Wrap the filling by lightly squeezing the wrapper around it. Repeat for all 24 shumai. Place a piece of reserved shrimp on top of each shumai and press gently to secure.
Line the steamer with parchment paper and arrange the shumai inside.
Bring water to a boil in the steamer. Steam the shumai over medium heat for about 10 minutes until the meat is cooked through.
