Slice the daikon into 2cm thick pieces and peel the skin. Cut into half-moon shapes. Thinly slice the ginger.

Mix the seasoning ingredients (sake, mirin, sugar, miso) in a bowl.

Heat salad oil in a pan over medium heat. Add pork ribs and sear both sides until browned, about 2–3 minutes. Add water and ginger, bring to a boil, and skim off any foam. Cover and simmer on low heat for 30 minutes until the pork is tender.

Add daikon slices to the pan, increase to medium heat, and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes until the daikon is tender. Add the mixed seasoning and stir. Cover and simmer for another 10 minutes.

Uncover and simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Serve on a plate and garnish with chopped green onions.
