Cut the cabbage into 1cm wide strips, then into 4cm lengths.

Pat the fried tofu with a paper towel to remove excess oil, then cut it into 1cm wide strips.

In a pot, combine water and dashi powder. Heat over medium heat until it starts to boil, then add cabbage and fried tofu. Cover and simmer for 3–4 minutes until the cabbage softens.

Turn off the heat and dissolve the miso paste into the soup. Heat again over medium heat until just before boiling.
