- 🍗 1 piece (250g) chicken thigh
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Marinade
- 🍶 1 tbsp sake
- 🧂 1/4 tsp salt
- 🧄 1/4 tsp grated garlic
Coating
- 🥚 1 beaten egg
- 2 tbsp potato starch
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
Mentaiko Mayo Sauce
- 1/2 piece (25g) mentaiko
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 🥛 1 tbsp milk
Garnish
- 🧅 Chopped green onion as needed
ÉTAPES
Cut the mentaiko open and extract the contents. Mix the mentaiko with mayonnaise and milk in a bowl to prepare the Mentaiko Mayo Sauce.
Cut the chicken thigh into large bite-sized pieces.
In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces with sake, salt, and grated garlic. Let it marinate for 10 minutes. Add the beaten egg, potato starch, and flour, and mix well.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the coated chicken pieces and pan-fry for about 4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and fry for another 2 minutes. Remove excess oil with a paper towel, cover with a lid, and steam over low heat for 3 minutes until fully cooked.
Serve the fried chicken on a plate, drizzle with the Mentaiko Mayo Sauce, and garnish with chopped green onions.
