  • Seasonings

    • 1 tbsp sake
    • 2 tbsp mirin
    • 3 tbsp ponzu soy sauce

Slice the daikon into 2cm rounds, peel thickly, and score in a crosshatch pattern. Cut into halves. Place on a microwave-safe plate, add 2 tbsp water, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave at 600W for 5 minutes. Julienne the ginger.

Pat the yellowtail fillets dry with paper towels and cut into bite-sized pieces.

Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the daikon slices and cook until both sides are golden brown.

Push the daikon to the side of the pan and add the yellowtail pieces. Cook for 3 minutes on each side until browned.

Add the seasonings (sake, mirin, ponzu) and julienned ginger to the pan. Bring to a boil and spoon the sauce over the fish and daikon until thickened.
