Vegetables
- 150g lotus root, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 🥕 1/2 carrot, cut into bite-sized pieces
Protein
- 150g konjac, torn into bite-sized pieces
Oil
- 2 tsp salad oil
Seasoning
- White sesame seeds, as needed
- 2 tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 🍬 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/3 tsp Japanese dashi powder
- 💧 200ml water
ÉTAPES
Cut lotus root into bite-sized pieces and soak in water to remove excess starch. Drain well. Cut carrot into bite-sized pieces. Tear konjac into bite-sized pieces using a spoon.
Place konjac in a frying pan, add enough water to cover it, and boil over medium heat for about 3 minutes. Drain thoroughly.
Wipe the frying pan dry, heat salad oil, and stir-fry konjac, lotus root, and carrot over medium heat for about 2 minutes.
Add the seasoning mixture (sake, mirin, sugar, soy sauce, dashi powder, and water) and bring to a boil. Cover with a lid and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
Remove the lid and cook over medium heat until the sauce reduces to half. Serve on a plate and sprinkle with white sesame seeds.
