    • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
    • 🥛 2 tbsp milk
  • Seasoning

    • 🧂 1/3 tsp salt
    • Pinch of pepper
  • Cooking Oil

    • 1 tbsp salad oil
  • Sauce

    • 1 tbsp sake
    • 1 tbsp mirin
    • 🍬 2 tsp sugar
    • 1 tbsp soy sauce

Chop 1/3 of the lotus root into small pieces and soak in water. Grate the remaining lotus root and remove excess water.

Mix breadcrumbs and milk in a bowl to moisten the breadcrumbs.

Add ground meat, grated lotus root, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix until sticky, then add the chopped lotus root and mix again. Divide into two portions and shape into oval patties.

Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook the patties until browned, then flip. Cover with a lid and cook on low heat for about 7 minutes until fully cooked. Remove from the pan.

Wipe excess oil from the pan with a paper towel. Add sauce ingredients and heat over medium heat while stirring. Serve the patties on a plate and pour the sauce over them.
