INGRÉDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 🍗 300g chicken thigh
- 🧅 1/2 stalk green onion, minced
- Enough salad oil for frying
- 🥬 Some lettuce for serving
Marinade
- 1 tbsp sake
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 🧄 1/2 tsp grated garlic
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger
Batter
- 🥚 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp potato starch
ÉTAPES
Mince the green onion and cut the chicken thigh into bite-sized pieces.
Mix the marinade ingredients (sake, soy sauce, garlic, ginger) in a bowl, add the green onion, and mix well. Add the chicken pieces and marinate for 5 minutes.
Add the batter ingredients (beaten egg, flour, potato starch) to the bowl with the marinated chicken and mix well.
Heat salad oil to 180°C in a pot, ensuring it is about 3cm deep. Fry the chicken pieces for 3–5 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve the karaage on a plate lined with lettuce.
