INGRÉDIENTS
Fish
- 🐟 2 fillets (160g) mackerel
Vegetables
- 🧅 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 🥕 1/4 carrot, julienned
Seasoning
- 🧂 Pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
Oil
- Sufficient amount of salad oil for frying
Nanban Sauce
- 🍬 3 tbsp sugar
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp vinegar
- 💧 150ml water
- 1/2 tbsp sliced chili
ÉTAPES
Thinly slice the onion and julienne the carrot.
Mix the Nanban sauce ingredients (sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, water, chili) in a bowl and toss with the prepared vegetables.
Pat the mackerel fillets dry with paper towels and slice into 1cm wide pieces. Sprinkle with salt and coat evenly with cornstarch.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the mackerel until golden brown and crispy, then remove from the pan.
While still hot, add the fried mackerel to the Nanban sauce and mix gently. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
