Cut garlic in half lengthwise, remove the core, and crush it with the side of a knife. Slice green onion diagonally into 1cm pieces.

In a pot, add chicken thigh, drumsticks, and water. Heat over medium heat until boiling, then skim off any foam. Add rice, ginger, garlic, green onion, and salt. Cover and simmer on low heat for 40 minutes.
