Vegetables
- 300g satoimo (Japanese taro)
- 125g konnyaku
- 🧅 Chopped green onion, a small amount
Cooking Oil
- 1/2 tbsp salad oil
Liquid
- 💧 100cc water
Seasoning
- A pinch of Japanese dashi powder
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 🍬 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
ÉTAPES
Peel the satoimo and cut into bite-sized pieces. Rub with salt (not listed: 1 tsp) in a bowl, rinse, and drain.
Tear the konnyaku into bite-sized pieces using a spoon. Boil in water (not listed: enough to cover) for 3 minutes, then drain.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add satoimo and konnyaku, stir until coated with oil. Add water and dashi powder, bring to a boil, then add the seasoning ingredients (☆). Cover and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Uncover and cook over medium heat, stirring to reduce the liquid slightly.
Serve on a plate and garnish with chopped green onion.
