Main Ingredients
- 🍤 100g peeled shrimp
- 🥬 150g chopped cabbage
- 25g pollock roe
- 1 tbsp salad oil
Batter
- 100g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Japanese dashi powder
- 💧 100cc water
- 🥚 1 egg
- 2 tbsp tempura flakes
Toppings
- Okonomiyaki sauce as needed
- Mayonnaise as needed
- Bonito flakes as needed
- Aonori (seaweed powder) as needed
ÉTAPES
Chop the cabbage into coarse pieces.
Pat dry the peeled shrimp and cut the pollock roe into quarters.
In a bowl, mix flour, dashi powder, and water. Add the egg, tempura flakes, and cabbage, then mix gently to incorporate air into the batter.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan. Pour most of the batter into the pan and spread it into a circle. Arrange shrimp and pollock roe on top, then cover with the remaining batter. Cook over medium heat until browned.
Flip the okonomiyaki, cover with a lid, and cook over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes until the batter is fully cooked.
Remove the lid, flip the okonomiyaki again, and cook for 1–2 minutes over medium heat until crispy.
Serve on a plate and add toppings: okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, bonito flakes, and aonori.
