INGRÉDIENTS
Chicken
- 🍗 1 piece (250g) chicken breast
Oil
- Enough salad oil for frying
Marinade
- 1/2 tsp five-spice powder
- 🧄 1/2 tsp grated garlic
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger
- 2 tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 🍬 1 tsp sugar
- 🧂 1 tbsp soy sauce
Coating
- 2 tbsp glutinous rice flour
- 2 tsp potato starch
ÉTAPES
Place the chicken breast skin-side down on a cutting board, cover with plastic wrap, and pound with a rolling pin to flatten.
Mix the marinade ingredients in a shallow dish. Add the chicken, coat thoroughly, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Mix glutinous rice flour and potato starch. Coat the marinated chicken evenly with the mixture.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan to 170°C (340°F). Fry the chicken for 3 minutes on one side, then flip and fry for another 3–4 minutes until cooked through.
