INGRÉDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 200g rice cake
- Generous amount of cooking oil
Sauce Ingredients
- 2 tbsp corn syrup
- 🧄 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 🍬 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1/2 tbsp chili powder
- 💧 1/2 tbsp water
- 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
ÉTAPES
Boil the rice cakes briefly in hot water to make them chewier.
Drain the boiled rice cakes and remove excess water.
Skewer the rice cakes onto sticks, about 5 pieces per skewer.
Heat a pan with generous cooking oil and fry the skewered rice cakes until crispy.
Prepare the sauce by combining corn syrup, minced garlic, ketchup, sugar, gochujang, chili powder, water, and soy sauce in another pan and simmer until thickened.
Brush the sauce evenly on both sides of the fried rice cake skewers.
Serve the tteokkochi skewers. Optionally, add sausages to create 'sotteok' (sausage and rice cake skewers).
