Place broccoli in a microwave-safe container, add 1 tbsp water, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and microwave at 600W for 1 minute. Drain the water. Cut garlic in half lengthwise, remove the core, and crush with the flat side of a knife.

Cut block bacon into 1cm wide strips, then cut each strip into 1cm cubes. Slice boiled octopus into bite-sized pieces.

In a pot, add olive oil, garlic, chili slices, and salt. Heat on low until fragrant. Add bacon and octopus, then increase to medium heat and simmer. Once bubbling, add broccoli and stir briefly to cook.
