INGREDIENTI
Fish
- 🐟 8 small horse mackerels
Vegetables
- 🧅 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
Seasoning
- 1 tbsp sake
- 🧂 Pinch of salt and pepper
- Potato starch, as needed
- Salad oil, as needed
Marinade
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 🍋 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tbsp curry powder
- 🧂 1/3 tsp salt
- 🧂 Pinch of pepper
- 💧 100 ml water
PASSI
Thinly slice the onion and soak in water for 5 minutes. Drain well.
Prepare the horse mackerel by removing scales, guts, and gills. Wash and pat dry. Season with sake, salt, and pepper. Coat with potato starch.
Mix all marinade ingredients in a bowl and add the sliced onion. Stir gently to combine.
Heat salad oil in a pot to 170°C (340°F) and deep-fry the fish until golden and cooked through.
Add the fried fish to the marinade and let it sit for 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
