- 🐟 4 filleted sardines
Wrapper
- 8 dumpling wrappers
Vegetable
- 🧅 1 green onion, finely sliced
Liquid
- 💧 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp ponzu sauce
Condiment
- mustard, as needed
Seasoning
- 🍬 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sake
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp grated ginger

Scrape the sardine meat from the skin using a spoon and finely chop with a knife. Slice the green onion into thin rings.
In a bowl, mix the sardine meat with the seasoning ingredients (☆). Divide the mixture into 8 portions.
Place 1/8 of the mixture onto each dumpling wrapper and fold to seal. Arrange on a heatproof plate, sprinkle with water, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and microwave at 600W for 4 minutes.
Serve the dumplings on a plate with ponzu sauce and mustard on the side.
