INGREDIENTS
Fruits
- 🍏 1 ¼ pounds Granny Smith apples, cored and thinly sliced
- 🍋 1 ½ lemons, juiced
Liquids and Sweeteners
- 1 ½ cups water
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 🍯 1 tablespoon honey
STEPS
Mix apples with the juice of 1/2 lemon in a resealable plastic bag or container. Freeze for several hours or overnight.
In a small saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in honey. Cool completely.
Blend the frozen apples with juice of 1 lemon and cooled sugar syrup until smooth. The peel will add texture and prevent the mixture from being fully smooth.
Transfer the mixture to an ice cream machine and freeze according to the machine’s instructions. Allow to soften for 10 minutes before serving.
