- 1 ½ cups pecans, finely chopped

Cake
- 🌾 1 ⅞ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- 🧂 ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
- 🍚 1 cup white sugar
- 🧈 ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 🥚 2 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream or creme fraiche
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter an 8x10-inch baking dish.
Mix pecans, white sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, and salt together in a bowl for the topping until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together for the cake.
In a large bowl, mix sugar and butter until well blended. Whisk in eggs one at a time, then add sour cream and vanilla extract. Gradually whisk in the flour mixture until just combined.
Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the topping. Add the remaining batter on top and finish with the remaining topping, pressing gently into the batter.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.
