INGREDIENTS
Dough
- 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
- 💧 ¾ cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
- 🍚 ¼ cup white sugar
- 🧂 ¾ teaspoon salt
- 🥚 1 egg, room temperature
- 🍞 2 ½ cups bread flour
Filling
- 🧈 ¼ cup butter, softened
- 🌰 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 🍯 ½ cup brown sugar
STEPS
Dissolve yeast in warm water in a small bowl. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
Combine yeast mixture with sugar, salt, egg, and 1 cup flour in a large bowl. Gradually stir in the remaining flour, ½ cup at a time. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan. Roll the dough into a rectangle (¼ inch thick). Spread butter, sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar. Roll the dough lengthwise into a log, slice into 16 pieces, then arrange pieces cut side up in the pan.
Cover the pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or let rise at room temperature for 45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Bake rolls until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
