Beef
- 🥩 2 steak cuts of beef
Vegetables
- 🧅 1/2 onion, minced
- 🧄 1 clove garlic, sliced
Seasoning
- 🧂 Pinch of salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp salad oil
Sauce Ingredients
- 2 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 🍬 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
Side Dish
- Baby leaf, as needed
- 🍅 Cherry tomatoes, as needed

Take the beef out of the fridge and bring it to room temperature. Sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper just before cooking.
Mince the onion and slice the garlic, removing its core.
Heat salad oil and garlic in a pan over low heat until fragrant. Add the beef and cook over medium heat for 2 minutes on each side. Remove the beef and garlic from the pan.
Wrap the beef in aluminum foil and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
Add minced onion to the same pan and sauté over medium heat until translucent. Add the sauce ingredients and simmer for 2 minutes to create the Japanese-style onion sauce.
Slice the beef into bite-sized pieces and plate. Pour the onion sauce over the beef and garnish with the cooked garlic.
