    • 125g konjac, thinly sliced
  • Oil and Seeds

    • 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
    • to taste white sesame seeds
  • Seasonings

    • 1 tbsp sake
    • 2 tbsp mirin
    • 1 tbsp soy sauce
    • a pinch sliced chili pepper
    • 💧 50ml water

Scrape the skin off the burdock with the back of a knife, slice diagonally, and cut into thin strips. Soak in water for 5 minutes and drain.

Cut the konjac into thin strips. Boil the konjac in water for 3 minutes over medium heat and drain.

Heat sesame oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add burdock and konjac, stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add the seasonings and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer over low heat for 4–5 minutes.

Remove the lid, increase to medium heat, and stir-fry until the liquid evaporates. Serve on a plate and sprinkle with white sesame seeds.
