Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the rolls and cook, turning occasionally, until browned evenly. Add sake, cover, and steam for about 4 minutes.

Push the rolls to one side of the pan, add the seasoning mixture (sake, sugar, soy sauce), and simmer until the sauce thickens and coats the rolls.
