Cut the bacon into 1cm-wide strips.

Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat, add bacon and grated garlic, and sauté until the bacon releases its fat.

Add oatmeal and soup base ingredients (water, milk, grated cheese, salt) to the pan. Mix well and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes until the oatmeal softens.
