Cut the garlic in half lengthwise, remove the core, and crush with the flat side of a knife.

In a pot, add olive oil, garlic, salt, and chili. Heat on low until fragrant. Add the scallops and simmer over medium heat. Once bubbling, add the potato and mix briefly. Simmer for a short time.
