Cut the potatoes into 8 pieces and soak them in water for about 5 minutes. Drain the water. Cut the onion into wedges and the beef into bite-sized pieces.

Heat a frying pan and melt the butter. Add the onion and sauté until softened. Add the beef and cook until its color changes, then add the potatoes and stir-fry together.

Once the potatoes are coated with oil, add the canned tomatoes (including juice) and the seasoning ingredients. Cover with a lid and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the lid, increase to high heat, and stir with a spatula to evaporate the liquid until the sauce is almost gone. Serve on a plate and sprinkle with grated cheese and parsley.
