- 🍚 2 bowls (400g) warm rice
- 🥩 200g sliced beef
- 🧅 1/2 onion
- Pickled ginger, to taste
Seasoning
- 1 tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 🧂 2 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 💧 200ml water
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger

Cut the onion into wedges.

In a pot, add onion and seasoning ingredients (☆). Heat until boiling, then cover and simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Add the beef, breaking it apart as you add. Skim off any foam and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.

Serve warm rice in bowls, top with the beef mixture and pickled ginger.
