Main Ingredients
- 1 block tofu
- 🧅 1/4 onion
Seasonings
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sugar or syrup
- 3 tbsp chili powder
- 1/2 tbsp shrimp paste
- 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp chopped green onion
- 🧄 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/2 cup water
BƯỚC
Cut the tofu into thick, large slices and pan-fry until golden on both sides.
Prepare the sauce by mixing all seasonings except water.
Layer the tofu in a pot and place onion slices on top, then pour the sauce over each layer.
Add 1/2 cup water to the sauce bowl to collect remaining seasoning and pour it into the pot.
Simmer on low heat with the lid on, occasionally tilting the pot to spoon the sauce over the tofu.
Once the tofu absorbs the sauce and becomes tender, the dish is ready to serve.
