Main Ingredients
- 🥔 2 medium potatoes
- 🧀 2 slices melting cheese
- 1 tbsp potato starch
- 🧂 1 pinch salt
Cooking Oil
- 2 tbsp salad oil
Sauce Ingredients
- 🧈 20g salted butter
- 1 tbsp sake
- 🍬 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce

Cut the potatoes into bite-sized pieces and soak them in water. Drain the water. Cut the melting cheese in half.
Place the potatoes in a pot with enough water to cover them. Boil over medium heat for 10 minutes, then drain the water.
Mash the potatoes in a bowl until smooth. Add potato starch and salt, mix well, and let cool slightly.
Divide the mixture into 4 portions. Flatten each portion on plastic wrap, place cheese in the center, and wrap to form a round shape.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the potato mochi until golden brown on all sides, then remove from the pan.
Add butter and sauce ingredients (sake, sugar, soy sauce) to the pan. Mix well and coat the fried mochi in the sauce.
