Tofu
- 350g firm tofu
Cheese / Dairy
- 72g cream cheese
Coating
- Potato starch, as needed
Oil
- Salad oil, as needed
Sauce
- 1 tbsp concentrated noodle sauce
- 💧 50ml water
Garnish
- 150g grated daikon
- Chili powder, a pinch
- Kaiware sprouts, as needed

Cut the firm tofu in half horizontally, wrap in kitchen paper, and place a weight on top for 15 minutes to drain water. Cut each piece into quarters. Grate the daikon and lightly squeeze out excess water. Mix grated daikon with chili powder to make 'momiji oroshi.'
Coat the tofu pieces with potato starch. Place cream cheese on one piece of tofu and sandwich it with another piece. Repeat to make 4 sets.
In a microwave-safe container, combine noodle sauce and water. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and microwave at 600W for 1 minute to make the sauce.
Heat salad oil in a pot to 170°C, filling it to about 1cm depth. Fry the tofu sandwiches for about 2 minutes, turning them until lightly golden brown.
Place the fried tofu sandwiches on a plate, pour the sauce over them, and garnish with momiji oroshi and kaiware sprouts.
