- 1/2 burdock root, julienned
- 2 tbsp sakura shrimp
- 🧂 Pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp tempura flour
- Sufficient vegetable oil for frying
Batter
- 3 tbsp tempura flour
- 💧 3 tbsp cold water

Scrape the skin off the burdock root and julienne it.
Soak the julienned burdock root in water, then drain and pat dry.
Mix the burdock root, sakura shrimp, salt, and tempura flour in a bowl.
In a separate bowl, combine tempura flour and cold water to make the batter.
Add the burdock root mixture to the batter and mix gently.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Scoop the mixture with a large spoon or ladle and gently drop it into the oil. Fry for 1–2 minutes, flipping halfway.
