Cut the pumpkin into bite-sized pieces, removing the hard skin. Place in a microwave-safe container, add 1 tbsp of water, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and microwave at 600W for 5 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.

In a bowl, mix the salted kombu, mayonnaise, white sesame seeds, and salt and pepper. Add the pumpkin and toss to coat evenly.
