Add 700ml water to a microwave-safe pot, cover, and heat in a 600W microwave for 8–10 minutes until boiling.

Place the canned saba (including the liquid) into a plastic bag and mash it finely by hand. Add the remaining Saba Flake ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Add somen noodles in two batches to the boiling water, stirring each time to separate. Microwave uncovered at 600W for 1 minute longer than the package instructions. Rinse in cold water and drain.

Place the noodles in the pot, mix with sesame oil, and top with the prepared Saba Flake. Cut green onion with kitchen scissors and sprinkle over the dish.
