Main Ingredients
- 1 block firm tofu
- 1/2 red chili, sliced
Seasonings
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tbsp corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp ground pepper
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 🧅 10 cm green onion, minced
- 🧄 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 🧂 0.3 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
- 💧 1 1/4 cups water
步骤
Rinse the tofu under running water, pat dry with a kitchen towel, and cut into thick slices. Season with salt and ground pepper.
Finely mince the green onion and garlic for the seasoning. Slice the red chili diagonally for garnish.
Mix minced green onion, garlic, soy sauce, chili powder, corn syrup, ground pepper, sesame seeds, and sesame oil in a bowl to create the sauce.
Heat cooking oil in a frying pan and fry the tofu slices on both sides until golden brown.
Add 2/3 of the prepared sauce mixed with water to the pan. Simmer the tofu on medium heat for 6–7 minutes.
Add the remaining sauce and garnish with sliced red chili. Simmer for another 4–5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serve the spicy braised tofu as a main dish or side dish with rice.
