In a pot, combine the seasoning ingredients (sake, mirin, sugar, soy sauce, and water) with the ginger and bring to a boil. Add the clam meat, cover with a drop lid, and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.

Turn off the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
