INGREDIENTS
Dry Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 🧂 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 🧈 1 cup salted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 🥚 2 large eggs
Mix-ins
- 🍫 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
- 🥨 2 cups pretzels, divided
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 375°F (180°C). Line 4 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Mix together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
Combine butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a second bowl.
Beat butter and sugar mixture with an electric mixer on high speed until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes). Use a rubber spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl.
Add 1 egg and beat until well combined. Add the second egg and vanilla extract. Beat until well combined.
Add dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Stir with a rubber spatula until barely combined and flour is still visible.
Fold in chocolate chips and 1 1/2 cups of pretzels. Stir until incorporated.
Portion dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets. Lightly press the remaining 1/2 cup of pretzels onto the tops of the cookies.
Bake cookies in batches until light golden brown at the edges, 10-12 minutes per batch.
Cool cookies on the baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.
