INGREDIENTS
Topping
- 🧈 2 ounces butter
- 🟤 ½ cup packed brown sugar
- 🌾 ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 🌰 1 cup chopped pecans
Filling
- 🍎 9 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
- 🍬 ¼ cup white sugar
- 🌾 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 🌿 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Base
- 2 recipes unbaked pie shells
STEPS
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the topping by combining butter, brown sugar, flour, and chopped pecans. Cut with a pastry cutter until the mixture is pea-sized. Set aside.
Combine the apples, white sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Toss gently together and set aside.
Place the apple filling mixture into unbaked pie shells. Heap the apples high in each shell and fill completely. Sprinkle topping over the apples.
Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes. Ensure the topping does not get too dark.
