INGREDIENTS

  • Meat

    • 🐄 1/2 lb ground sirloin
    • 🌭 1 lb spicy Italian sausage
  • Vegetables

    • 🧅 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • Spices

    • 🧂 1 teaspoon kosher salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Dairy

    • 🧀 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese
    • 1 (8-ounce package) garlic and herb cream cheese
  • Bacon

    • 🥓 24 slices of bacon
  • Sauce

    • 1 ½ cups BBQ sauce

STEPS

1

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add pasta shells and cook for 5 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water. Spread shells out on a paper towel-lined baking sheet to drain.

2

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (160 degrees C).

3

Combine ground sirloin, Italian sausage, onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, shredded cheese, and cream cheese in a bowl. Mix well and transfer the mixture to a piping bag or resealable plastic bag. Cut off one corner to facilitate filling.

4

Fill each pasta shell evenly with the meat mixture and wrap each stuffed shell with a slice of bacon. Place the stuffed shells on a lightly greased rack inserted in a baking sheet. Brush each shell evenly with BBQ sauce.

5

Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Flip each shell, brush more BBQ sauce, and bake for another 25–30 minutes until bacon is crispy and shells are golden brown.

6

Flip shells once more, brush with additional BBQ sauce if desired, and bake for an additional 5 minutes.

7

Remove from oven, sprinkle with jalapeño slices if desired, and let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

💡 For a spicier version, use jalapeño cheddar cheese instead of Monterey Jack cheese.Place the bacon-wrapped shells on a rack to ensure even cooking without greasy residue. For a smokier flavor, try adding liquid smoke to the BBQ sauce.
