INGREDIENTS
Pasta
- 🍝 1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti
Meat
- 🥩 1 pound ground beef
Vegetables
- 🧅 1 onion, chopped
Sauce
- 1 (32 ounce) jar meatless spaghetti sauce
Seasonings
- 🧂 ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
Dairy
- 🥚 2 large eggs
- 🧀 ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 🧈 5 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 cups small curd cottage cheese
- 🧀 5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti for about 12 minutes, until tender but firm. Drain.
In a skillet, cook and stir ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned and soft, about 5-7 minutes.
Drain excess oil from the skillet. Stir in spaghetti sauce and seasoned salt.
Whisk eggs, Parmesan cheese, and melted butter in a large bowl. Add cooked spaghetti and toss to coat evenly.
Layer half the spaghetti mixture in the prepared baking dish. Top with half the cottage cheese, 2 cups mozzarella, and half the meat sauce. Repeat layers.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
Remove foil. Sprinkle remaining 1 cup mozzarella over the top. Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and lightly browned.
Serve warm and enjoy your baked spaghetti.
