INGREDIENTS
Shrimp
- 🦐 6 shrimp with shells
Vegetables
- 🥬 2 cabbage leaves
- 🍋 1/4 lemon
- 🧅 1/4 onion, minced
Eggs
- 🥚 1 boiled egg
- 🥚 1 beaten egg
Breading
- Flour as needed
- Breadcrumbs as needed
Oil
- Salad oil as needed
Tartar Sauce
- 🍬 1 tsp sugar
- 🍶 2 tsp vinegar
- 🧂 Salt and pepper to taste
- 🥪 2 tbsp mayonnaise
STEPS
Remove the shells from the shrimp, leaving the last segment near the tail. Devein, wash thoroughly, and pat dry. Make shallow cuts on the belly side to straighten the shrimp, and scrape the tail tip with the back of a knife.
Shred the cabbage, cut the lemon into wedges, and mince the onion. Soak the minced onion in water to reduce sharpness.
In a bowl, mash the boiled egg with a fork. Add the minced onion and the tartar sauce ingredients (sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper, and mayonnaise) and mix well.
Prepare the breading by coating the shrimp in flour, then beaten egg, and finally breadcrumbs.
Heat about 2 cm of salad oil in a pot to 170°C (340°F). Fry the shrimp for about 3 minutes or until cooked through. Serve with shredded cabbage, lemon wedges, and tartar sauce.
